Helping artists ascend creatively, professionally and personally.
Dear fellow photographer,
I know that this path is tough, and that many of you are frustrated. You have talent, passion and drive, but you’re still struggling to find clients or get lucrative bookings. Have you ever wondered how and why other photographers, maybe with less talent, are able to make money and build success? And have you wondered why you haven't? Wondered what they did differently? Have you ever dreamed of having clients approach you and being so booked that you can’t fit them in? Or dreamed that photography and creativity could bring you great financial success and security? Have you ever felt like you're running in circles and wondered if you should even continue? Believe me, I feel you... Because I’ve been there. Big time. I know personally the challenges and frustrations that you feel. I felt that way at first. I even wanted to give up. But I didn’t. And through agonizing 18 hour work days of trial and error, with a lot of error at first, and almost psychotic tenacity (failure was NOT an option), I discovered secrets that allowed me to build the career of my dreams, make millions doing it, and even give a TED Talk. It was hard. I want it to be less hard for you. Please read on, because I sincerely believe that what I can teach you, could change your life and your career forever.
My story. From misery to mastery. …If I can do it, you can, too.
23 years ago, I was a broke. Like, eviction notice broke. My career in producing was waning, as was my acting career. I was no spring chicken, I was scared, and I needed to regroup. Quickly.
In an act of random desperation, I offered headshots for some of my actor friends. Cheap. My only thought was “maybe I can pay part of my rent.” What audacity. I had no experience. None. I had never owned a camera, I didn’t know what an f-stop was, and I had no idea how to make a living taking pictures.
Within 18 months I was shooting celebrity portraits for magazines, had been featured on Entertainment Tonight, was getting referrals from top agencies, and could count Oscar and Emmy Award nominated actors as my clientele and was making a mid 6-figure income.
In the years since, I’ve created a multi-million dollar career doing what I love. It’s been a wonderful ride that’s seen me shooting celebrities and luminaries from business and the arts. I’ve mastered multiple genres including portraiture, lifestyle, editorial, corporate and more. I even got to do a TED Talk. Who woulda thunk it?
As I’ve continued to thrive in a constantly changing landscape, I've been inundated with inquires from photographers, all asking the very same question… HOW DID I DO IT?
At this point in my career, I’m not afraid to share my secrets.
How I got there.
I developed techniques to get the best out of anyone who stepped in front of my lens.
I reset my thinking to eliminate self-defeating mindsets, overcome abundance issues, correct my flawed money mindset, kicked self-flagellation’s ass, and sent imposter syndrome packing.
I created very specific processes to make my shots stand out. So my clients stood out.
I discovered the “four corners techniques” so I could make each photo a complete story in itself,
I learned pricing strategies that made clients want to spend money with me.
I dialed in on both my studio lighting and natural lighting.
I utilized “scarcity” and “mystery” approaches in client acquisition and booking.
I identified specific niches that allowed me to narrow cast my branding and marketing.
I found my own voice as a photographer, and didn’t copy other styles. (This is vital to my coaching, as most coaches get you to shoot like THEM, so you become an imitation).
I created ways to keep myself highly motivated and inspired, even when it was effin’ tough.
Join The 15% Club
Did you know that 85% of photographers fail? Accorting to Dane Sanders in the book Fast Track Photographer, in the 1st year, 60% of photographers give up their businesses. Of the remaining 40%, another 25% will fail within the 2nd year. The ones that make it are the remaining 15% who endure through the 3rd year. The ones who thrive are even fewer.
But you can thrive. You WILL thrive. You will create financial security as a successful artist. This coaching will hardwire you with the motivation, confidence, tenacity, business acumen, knowledge and skills that you need to be in the 15% success bracket.
Leveling Up. For All Levels.
This highly intensive coaching is designed for every level photographer from amateur to pro. We only ask that you have a working knowledge of your camera and a keen desire to learn.
It’s geared toward portraits, headshots, and editorial portraiture, but what you will learn applies to photographing people in any context.
“There are many obstacles that will be in your way. That is a given. The great tragedy is when the biggest obstacle is one you’ve built yourself.”
~ Kenneth Dolin
Be an Innovator.
Not an imitator.
Most photography workshops teach students how to copy the coach’s style. Students end up shooting just like the teacher. They become copy-cats. This is a flawed approach. Because you can’t gain success through imitation. You gain it through innovation. My coaching is designed to help you discover and refine your own artistic style and find your own self-promotional voice and brand.
No Stone Left Uncovered.
This training is unique in that it covers all areas of building a successful portrait and headshot photography career. Because mastering only one aspect of your practice means that you will not ascend. You must be an artist, an engineer, a master of communication, and an astute business person. So, my programs are not just about lighting and camera settings. Nor are they just about business. This is about diving deeply into technical prowess, business and marketing, directing talent, liberating creativity, understanding sales, pricing, and making mindset resets to build confidence, drive and belief in self. It’s an approach to photography training based on what I’ve learned in 20 years as an industry leader. My goal is not to boast about how I got there, it’s to help you can get there, too.
Craft. Art. Business.

Giving You The Right Business Tools
It’s not enough to do what you love. You must nurture your love with mastery of the craft. This is how you awaken your talent. But that isn’t enough either. Ultimately, you must also master the business skills, pricing paradigms, marketing techniques and work ethic that is the other cornerstone of success and of creating a financially rewarding practice. You must also end self-limiting beliefs, which often involves a money mindset reset. This is how you turn your photography into a successful, enjoyable and lucrative career.
